A Decade of Impact: Celebrating 10 Years of Copper Rose Zambia at a Gala Dinner

On the evening of 5 December 2025, the Taj Pamodzi Hotel was transformed into a space of reflection, celebration, and bold ambition. As Copper Rose Zambia (CRZ) marked its 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner, the atmosphere was more than just celebratory; it was a testament to a decade of unwavering commitment to the youth of Zambia.

Beyond the Milestone: A Night of Purpose

With over 300 guests in attendance, ranging from government officials and corporate partners to the very young people who drive our mission, the gala served as a powerful reminder of what collective action can achieve.

Guided by the vibrant Master of the Ceremony, Sibeso Mofya, the evening was graced by Permanent Secretary Chileshe Kangwa, representing the Minister of Youth, Sport, and Arts. His presence, alongside representatives from the Ministries of Health and Education, underscored a vital truth: our work is deeply woven into the national fabric of Zambia’s development. “This is what true partnership looks like, Government and civil society working shoulder to shoulder for the future of Zambia.” PS Chileshe Kangwa

Ten Years by the Numbers

While the evening was filled with glamour, the heart of the event remained focused on our impact. As our Board Chair, Dr. Cheswa Vwalika, noted, our achievements are best measured in the lives we have touched.

Since our inception in 2015, CRZ has reached nearly one million young people. In 2024 alone, our footprint included:

  • 250,000+ young people reached with SRH, HIV prevention, and mental health info.
  • 25,000 boys engaged through the Coaching Boys Change program.
  • 1,000+ healthcare providers trained in youth-friendly service delivery.
  • 12,000 direct referrals to essential health services.

Investing in a Safer Future

The gala also looked toward a critical frontier, which aligned with the protection of survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). In partnership with the YWCA, we had set a fundraising goal of ZMW 250,000 to establish safe housing spaces designed not just for shelter, but for healing and restoration.

We were thrilled to announce that during the event, we raised ZMW 152,130 in cash pledges. That brought us significantly closer to ensuring that survivors have a pathway to dignity and safety.

To our partners, volunteers, and the young leaders who inspire us: Thank you. The first ten years were about building the vision; the next ten will be about scaling that impact to every corner of the nation.

The future of Zambia is young, informed, and bold. And at Copper Rose Zambia, we are just getting started.
