Yvonne Musukuma - Campus Corp Fellow Youth Development and Leadership Project
"As a Public Health student, I wouldn't be the advocate I am today without Copper Rose Zambia. Their mentorship program ignited my passion for change. Through their courses, webinars, and projects, I became a youth advisory board member, attended a global conference, and even launched my initiative to fight HIV stigma. Thank you, Copper Rose Zambia, for empowering me to become a change-maker!”

Natasha Chabala - Peer Educator Youth Care Project
"Before the Youth Care program, I felt limited by my circumstances. But thanks to the education, support, and mentorship I received, I have gained confidence, knowledge, and a brighter future. Now, I am empowering other girls as a peer educator to make informed choices about their health and achieve their dreams. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this transformative journey."

Mr. Samuel Mumba - Head Teacher, Malela Secondary School USAID Zambia Integrated Health Project
"Before the USAID ZIH-supported initiative, our school faced a number of cross -cutting challenges such as drug and substance and limited SRH knowledge among students. As a mitigation measure, the USAID ZIH introduced the interclass debates, which focused on health issues like HIV and drug and substance use, sparked crucial conversations and led to the activation of our school health room. This now provides access to vital services like HIV testing and counseling, resulting in 13 students being referred for VMMC and 10 seeking HIV testing. This initiative has improved student health and fostered a more positive learning environment, inspiring us to collaborate with other schools and organizations to expand these vital services.”

Inutu Zane Women’s Empowerment Project
"My name is Inutu. I am 22 years old. I came to know about Copper Rose Zambia in July 2016 when I saw a local advertisement in the community looking for 10 Candidates to participate as ambassadors in a women empowerment project called Zane Women’s Empowerment Project. I was very happy to be selected among the many that were shortlisted because I knew this would be a good start to building my leadership skills amongst other things. It’s been 6 months since this project began and I would like to say that it has been a life-changing experience. I used to be a girl who was very shy and timid with a very low self-esteem but ever since I became an ambassador for the Zane Women’s Empowerment Project, I have learnt how to be confident. Through the community outreach programs I lead, we have been able to reach many young women educating them about menstrual hygiene and health. These activities have sharpened my interpersonal skills as well as helped me develop effective communication skills. I am surely not the same person I was 6 months ago all thanks to this program. Thank you to Copper Rose Zambia for the work you are doing here in Lubombo District, changing women’s lives and making them more aware of their health.”

Buumba Ngulube
"My name is Buumba Ngulube, I am a native woman of Lubombo township from Kamulebamba section. I have been living here my whole life and I have never seen any organisation that has come to work here in Lubombo district, which has actively changed the lives of women and young girls like Copper Rose Zambia. This organisation with remarkable young women and men has given hope to the young girls and women in my community that they can achieve anything. They have been able to speak about taboo topics like menstruation and menstrual hygiene practices, a topic only spoken about in whispers, but affects most of the population living in this community. Speaking as a beneficiary of this project as a tailor, I have acquired the skill of making reusable sanitary pads for resale, which are better than the small pieces of worn-out pieces of cloth used during menstruation by the women and girls living in this area. With this business, I have become a small-scale entrepreneur making small profits to feed my family. In addition, I have learnt a lot about menstrual health as well as sexual reproductive health and rights that I am able to explain and educate others in my community.”
