Overview
CASPR is an Africa-led coalition of 13+ partners, supported by AVAC, working together to change how HIV prevention is pursued and delivered. CASPR activities are focused primarily in key African countries with the highest burden of new HIV infections, and where biomedical HIV prevention research is ongoing or planned.
The coalition comprises 13 partners, namely Africa Free of New HIV Infections (AfNHi), Advocacy for Prevention of HIV & AIDS (APHA), Copper Rose Zambia, FHI 360, The HIV/AIDS Vaccine Ethics Group (HAVEG), IAVI (International AIDS Vaccine Initiative), Internews, MESHA, Pangaea Zimbabwe, Treatment Advocacy and Literacy Campaign (TALC), WACI Health and Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute (Wits RHI).
Objectives
The goal of this project is to develop and sustain an Africa-centred network dedicated to accelerating biomedical HIV prevention research and advancing equitable access to proven HIV prevention products.
Impact
- Developed an SRH integration and Advocacy Road Map.
- Developed the Youth Engagement Strategy.
- Developed a policy brief on the age of access to HIV prevention services for adolescents, aiming to support informed policymaking and expand access to essential health services for young people.
