Overview
The ZUPPI project, aimed to enhance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) outcomes for adolescents and young people aged 15-24 in Lusaka District. The project focused on raising awareness, increasing demand, and boosting the uptake of SRHR services through peer educators who provided accurate and up-to-date information on SRHR to community members weekly radio programs on SRHR issues, and regular support meetings with adolescents and young people.
Objective
To improve adolescent sexual and reproductive health outcomes through increased information and access to SRHR services. To raise awareness, demand and uptake of SRHR services and distribute condoms among young people aged 15-24 in Lusaka District.
Impact
- Increased Awareness: The project successfully increased awareness of SRHR issues among 3000 adolescents and young people in the Lusaka District.
- Enhanced Access to Services: The distribution of 30,000 condoms contributed to increased access to essential SRHR commodities.
- Empowered Peer Educators: The training and support provided to 20 peer educators strengthened their capacity to deliver accurate information and provide services to their peers.
- Positive Behavioural Change: The project contributed to positive behavioural changes among young people, leading to increased uptake of SRHR services.
